Boyfriends & Girlfriends

Is it just me or does 11 seem a little young to be doing the "boyfriend/girlfriend" thing? DS has had a couple crushes but hasn't had a girlfriend yet. But there are a couple of "couples" in the 6th grade already.

too young, but my almost 10 yo always talks about the girls and boys in class that are "going out"
My son had a "girlfriend" last school year. She was in town for something and she said he was a cutie and then THEY both told everyone that they were bf/gf. He never saw her after that but they emailed for about a month.
UGH!!!!
